From Account & settings, Sinteza asks you to confirm twice before permanently deleting your authentication account and associated Sinteza data.
Choose what you want to remove
Permanently removes your research projects and related research while leaving your Sinteza login active.
Permanently removes your authentication account and all associated Sinteza data.
Delete your Sinteza account in the app
- Log in to Sinteza with the account you want to delete.
- Open Account & settings.
- Select Delete account.
- In the Delete your Sinteza account? warning, review what will be removed and choose Continue.
- In the This cannot be undone confirmation, choose Delete account.
When deletion succeeds, Sinteza signs out the local session and returns you to the start of the app. Choosing Cancel or Keep account stops the deletion.
Account and Sinteza service data
A successful account deletion permanently removes:
- Your Supabase authentication user, account email, provider identities, and Sinteza login.
- All owned Sinteza research projects, decision context, dates, and private notes.
- Submitted source URLs and stored source metadata.
- Generated claims, topics, syntheses, source positions, timestamps, and processing jobs.
- Owned public Brief publications, invitation records, and the viewer access attached to owned research projects.
- Your memberships in projects owned by other people and your saved public-Brief references. Deleting a viewer account does not delete the owner’s project.
- Source-usage ledger entries and subscription entitlements. Your purchased-credit wallet is permanently closed; unused purchased credits cannot be accessed afterward. Minimal purchase records described below are retained.
The deletion is performed by Sinteza’s authenticated server-side account-deletion function. You must be signed in with a valid session, and the app requires both confirmations before it sends the permanent deletion request.
If the account used Sign in with Apple and Sinteza has a stored encrypted Apple credential, Sinteza attempts to revoke it before destructive deletion. A revocation failure stops deletion so it can be retried. A legacy linked Apple account without a stored credential can still be deleted from Sinteza; the completion screen provides instructions for revoking Sinteza separately in Apple Account Settings.
Cancel store subscriptions separately
If your Sinteza account has an active Stripe web subscription, Sinteza cancels the subscription and deletes the Stripe customer before deleting your research and authentication account.
An Apple subscription must be canceled in your Apple Account under Subscriptions. A Google Play subscription must be canceled in Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Uninstalling Sinteza or deleting the Sinteza account does not cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google.
